MANILA, Philippines – The Ascott Limited successfully opened its latest property last June 14, 2024, with a festive event themed “Sinadya: Celebrating the Opening of Citadines Bacolod City.”
The ceremony, with its Masskara theme, successfully captured the lively spirit of Bacolod’s renowned festivals, and marked an apt way to celebrate another significant milestone to Ascott’s portfolio in the country.
City of Smiles
Known as the “City of Smiles,” Bacolod is a bustling city with great potential for long-term growth. Its vibrant culture and rich heritage make it an attractive destination for guests from all walks of life. The city’s dynamic atmosphere, coupled with its continuous development, made it an ideal location for Ascott’s newest property.
By establishing Citadines Bacolod City here, Ascott aims to contribute to the city’s growth while providing travelers with high-quality accommodation that embodies the essence of Bacolod’s charm.
“We are thrilled to open Citadines Bacolod City and to celebrate with the community through this special event. The opening itself, being my first in the Philippines, as a French man inaugurating a French brand, in this beautiful city, makes it very meaningful. ” said Patrick Vaysse, Country General Manager of The Ascott Limited Philippines.
“Our goal is to provide an exceptional living experience for our guests, blending the comforts of home with the dynamism of Bacolod’s cultural heritage”. Vaysse added
A little-known fact about Citadines that was shared during the inaugural speech was that the brand started in France back in 1984, marking its 40th anniversary this year with the opening of Citadines Bacolod City.
The event began with a soiree in the elegant lobby of the property; light networking had delicious canapes and welcome cocktails for all to enjoy. Together with the sensational tunes of the talented Prelude classical trio, the evening was off to a delightful start.
Lacson, Benitez and Ascott Limited Executives led ribbon-cutting ceremony
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in front of the hotel’s entrance. The ceremony began with a breathtaking performance from the incredible Bacolod Masskara dancers.
The Ascott Limited’s Country General Manager Patrick Vaysse and Cluster General Manager Cecille Teodoro and esteemed guests, including Cebu Landmasters Inc., (CLI) Director of Hotels and Resorts, Mathias Bergundthal, CLI Executive Vice President and COO Jose Franco Soberano and CLI Chairman and CEO, Jose Soberano III, alongside Capitaine Inc President Alec Lustre, Capitaine’s Alexis Lustre-Sarrosa, DOT Region 6 Director Crisanta Rodriguez, Bacolod Mayor Hon. Albee Benitez, and Negros Occidental Governor Hon. Eugenio Jose “Bong” Lacson, together with closed friends and family, alongside valued partners led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, signalling the official opening of the lastest Citadines in Bacolod City.
Namit and Fuego, Citadines’ world-class dining restaurants
Following the official Citadines’ opening, guests proceeded to Namit, the all-day dining restaurant, and Fuego, the steakhouse and bar lounge of the property.
Guests had the pleasure to sample the decadent menu of property executive chef Jose Medrano; from a robust selection of cheeses and cold cuts to an artistic display of some of the city’s most fresh seafood options, alongside the signature hot dishes of the restaurant, such as the house salpicao and inasal. Each dish and menu item was expertly prepared and served to those in attendance.
The quality and flavor of the dishes exemplified Citadines Bacolod City’s commitment to excellence in dining.
Adlao, Citadines’ pool bar
The celebration continued at Adlao, the Citadines Bacolod City pool bar, where guests were given a lively performance inspired by Bacolod’s rich heritage, culture, and traditions. The inspiring entertainment of Elmer Dado and Grupo Tribale and the stunning poolside setting created a memorable experience for all attendees.
As the festivities continued, the evening sky was painted with an unforgettable fireworks display. Everything came together to highlight the cultural essence of the region, as well as Ascott’s commitment to recognizing what makes every region unique.
“We are proud to offer a diverse array of dishes at Citadines Bacolod City, drawing inspiration from the rich culinary traditions across different regions in Asia,” said Cecille Teodoro, Ascott’s Cluster General Manager. “Our menu reflects the vibrant flavors and cultural heritage of our neighboring countries, providing our guests with a unique and unforgettable dining experience.”
Tam-is, Citadines’ grab-and-go section for cakes and pastries
