SAM: Skip the lines and simplify banking with BDO’s online branch appointment system and Service Assist Machines! Complete your transactions in just a few clicks!
Recently, I needed to visit a BDO branch to handle some important banking tasks. Like many people, I do not like waiting in line, especially when life feels busy. I had heard about the new technologies BDO introduced to enhance the client experience, so I was eager to give them a try.
Online Branch Appointment
I decided to use BDO’s online branch appointment system. With just a few taps on my mobile phone, I scheduled an appointment at my preferred branch. I could choose the exact time and the transaction I needed, which was a huge time-saver.
On the day of my appointment, I timed my errands and arrived at the branch right on schedule. There was no need to deal with the usual long waits. After checking in on my phone, I was called up for my transaction within minutes. It was one of the smoothest bank visits I’ve had in a long time.
How to Book Your Transaction Online
Save time by using BDO’s online appointment system for hassle-free banking. Here’s how to schedule your branch visit:
- Go to the SAM Dashboard on your mobile device or laptop.
- Select your desired transaction – Deposit, Withdraw Cash, Pay Bills, Encash Check, or Other Bank Services.
- Fill in the required information.
- After confirming the details, you’ll receive a QR Code.
- Scan the QR Code on the Queue Management System (QMS) at the branch.
- Wait for your number to be called and proceed to the teller to complete your transaction.
Service Assist Machine (SAM)
BDO also introduced the Service Assist Machine (SAM), a kiosk inside the branch that allows you to input your transaction details, removing the need to fill out forms manually.
I tried SAM, and it was easy to use. After entering my transaction details, I received a number. I waited for it to appear on the screen and then proceeded to the teller to complete my transaction.
How to Use the Service Assist Machine (SAM)
You can skip the bank forms and speed up your transaction using SAM. Here’s what to do:
- Go to the SAM kiosk inside the branch.
- Input your transaction details.
- Get your transaction number generated by SAM.
- Wait for your number to be called, and proceed to the teller to complete your transaction.
Balancing Digitization with a Personal Touch
While BDO has embraced digital innovations, they haven’t lost the personal touch. The staff remained friendly and helpful, assisting customers who weren’t as comfortable using the digital tools. It struck a perfect balance—technology for those who prefer efficiency, and personal service for those who need it.
This experience showed me how much technology can enhance something as simple as a bank visit. I didn’t feel rushed or stressed, and I had control over my time. It’s great to see how banking can be modern and efficient while providing that same personal touch when it matters.

oh wow, I love that everything is digitalized, this is very convenient and efficient and would lead to an amazing customer experience.
It’s great that things are slowly adapting to online ways and helps people a lot especially to those who can’t go outside as much or have an emergency etc. Becoming more convenient for people and love that companies and businesses are joining in the digital era as well
The SAM is really cool! I love seeing banking systems becoming more and more streamlined.
This is awesome! I love being able to book anything on line! Makes life so much easier!!!
Very interesting and I think it’s great that this approach caters to tech-savvy clients but also maintains a personal touch. Sometimes I get frustrated with not being able to talk to someone, but the right tech does make life easier!
Nnniiiiccceeeee….deploying SAM is a good invention. Personally, I am so tired of filling in the manual forms in the banks here.
I think this is a great idea. Nowadays, people are too busy with their lives, and finances should be handled securely and effectively. SAM will surely be a success for many banks.
