  1. I used to work in flooring and did a good amount of business with new construction. Having seen the margins builders tack onto the “upgrade” from the “builder entry level” items, I don’t see how new construction would ever be worth the amount you over pay. Also, lead times on products now is so much longer than the pre-pandemic era, you would really need to plan 18 to 24 months ahead of when you want to take occupancy.
