How My Car Insurance Saved Me After a Car Accident

Accidents can happen when we least expect it! Thankfully, my car insurance made all the difference after my recent mishap. Here’s how it saved me from stress and high repair costs.

Accidents can happen anytime, even when we think we’re being careful.

A few years ago, I was in a situation I never expected—an accident that left a noticeable dent and scratches on my car door. The paint was ruined, and the door needed replacement. My car, which I always try to keep in top shape, looked terrible, and I dreaded the cost of repairs.

One of the damages my car sustained during a road accident.

Luckily, I had car insurance, and this made all the difference. I quickly called my insurance provider, and they walked me through every step. Filing the claim was easier than I expected. I gave them the accident details, provided photos, and filled out a few forms. Soon after, I got the approval, and they sent me a list of partner repair shops.

Within days, I had my car at the casa.  They handled everything, from a fresh paint job to a new door that matched perfectly. I couldn’t believe how smoothly it all went. My insurance covered most of the costs, and I only had to pay a small deductible. In just a week, my car looked as good as new.

Looking back, I realized how much stress and financial burden car insurance can relieve. Without it, I would’ve had to spend much from my pocket, which would’ve been tough.

If you’re considering car insurance, it’s worth it. Providers like Banco De Oro offer car insurance plans that cover not only repairs after accidents but also damages from natural calamities like floods, and typhoons—perfect for our unpredictable weather—and even earthquakes.

  1. I too had a small crash caused by a trucker who was third in line merging onto a road of course drove away. My car had some damage to the front, while the SUV ahead of me had some damage caused by my car rolling into his. Thank goodness I had auto insurance. I will most likely, however, look around next year when its time to re-up.

  4. I’ve had car insurance since I got my first car at 16. I’ve never been without it. You never know what might happen!

  5. I was in a car accident when I was 18, and the car was considered totaled because of the damage (sideswiped, so it damaged the length of the vehicle). The insurance was enough to put a big down payment on a new vehicle. Having vehicle insurance is almost not optional with how much it saves in vehicle and medical bills in an accident for sure.

  6. Car insurance is a must. Anything might go wrong and we never know. Thanks for sharing this.

I agree! I brought my car into the dealer to get recalls taken care of. When I picked it up it was the dealership denied anything happened there. It was scratched from the front passenger panel to the back panel, then a dent. The car clearly ran into something. I called my insurance company and they called it a hit and run. They covered 100% of the cost to fix it.
